Lila ~ Mid Century Moroccan Boujad runner rug 10'7" x 2'3"

Lila is a beautiful, stunning Moroccan Boujad runner rug from the Mid 20th Century. This pretty rug makes me daydream of walking a path on a sunny day through a field of soft gold and lilac colors.

This vintage Berber runner is hand knotted by the woman in the village of Boujad in the middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Natural vegetable dyed, low pile wool in beautiful gold, lilac, purple, plum, peach, green and brown hues. These vibrant colors are among the most popular colors for this tribe.

This eye catching color combination with the captivating detailed motifs is sure to add vibrancy and warmth to any hallway or entry of your home. Lila is in beautiful condition and a rare vintage find in these bright colors.

These vintage moroccan rugs are original pieces of art that are filled with mystery and allure as the artist weaves her personal life story into each masterpiece.

Each rug is curated and hand picked by Maison de Boheme. Vintage, one of a kind rugs are very special and collectable. They tell a story and age like we do. May show very minor vintage wear. All rugs are cleaned and ready for your home. Enjoy!

DIMENSIONS: 10'7' x 2'3"

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

You can vacuum your Moroccan rug! Preferably with a vacuum that has no beater bar, but if your vacuum does not have that option, just raise it to the highest setting to cause the least friction possible to the wool. Vacuum from side to side, and don’t forget to flip it over every once in a while and vacuum the back as well. You can also shake your rug outside or hang it and hit it with a broom handle to remove the dust.

If a stain has occurred, I would start by blotting it with a towel to absorb the spill or wipe off whatever is on the rug. Next, I would try adding a little water and then blot it dry. If the stain is still noticeable, I would create a mixture of water and a touch of a mild dish soap.

Moroccan rugs love the sun! You can take the rug to an outdoor clean surface and hose it down with water and let it air dry in the sun. Be sure to flip it over for drying both sides. I do not recommend a washing machine on the vintage berber rugs.

NEVER take a Berber rug to the dry cleaner. Dry cleaning is a chemically based process that will not only ruin the integrity of the material and color but also often leaves behind a smell that does not go away. If you choose to have it professionally cleaned, please look for a rug cleaner that specializes in Moroccan berber rugs. They will never use harsh chemicals.
